I much prefer topical magnesium to oral magnesium. This eliminates digestive concerns and is better absorbed for that reason. Soak your feet in epsom salts several times a week. Better than pills.
Testing is warranted, inexpensive, and should be standard. It is not. You have to fight your doctor for a red blood cell magnesium test. And often it isn’t covered. Whatever. It’s $45.
Am adequate score, according to Dr Carolyn Dean- is in the 6.0-7.0 range. Most people score around 2.2. Almost nobody can pass the test! That includes people who take pills. It’s not what you consume. It’s what you absorb. Why I prefer topical.
I’m tired of this shit. Doctors ignore the need for adequate magnesium and whine about using the test. They get offended if you question them. These trusted authorities are fail us in preventing chronic disease. But I don’t blame them.
In life you get what you tolerate. Each of us must choose to follow good direction based on our judgement and hold that director accountable for the outcome. Or not.
